Every human life has value and dignity
Humanity United is a human rights foundation and grant-making organization based out of Redwood Hills, California, that is committed to building a world where modern-day slavery and mass atrocities are no longer possible.
Through partnerships and grant-funding, the organization is bringing together research, policy, and advocacy groups to help activate local and global solutions to alleviate human suffering. They also support efforts that empower affected communities and address the root causes of conflict and modern-day slavery to build lasting peace.
Sadly, the cause is more than just topical. With an estimated 27 million enslaved people around the world and mass atrocities such as government-sponsored ethnic cleansing still being perpetrated today, Humanity United efforts are needed more than ever.

Humanity United was established in 2005 by Pam Omidyar. It was originally a part of Omidyar Network, a philanthropic investment firm committed to helping people realize their potential, co-founded by Pam and her husband, eBay founder Pierre Omidyar.
When the foundation incorporated as a separate entity in 2008, they hired AREA 17 to create their first website. It was our pleasure to make a small contribution to this new organization committed to building a better world.
