Madame Figaro is an upscale weekly women’s magazine in France with a cultural approach to femininity. It is the second most read women’s magazine in the country and is a French institution since its inception in 1980.
Known for its high-quality writing and photography, the magazine has built a loyal following. The magazine adorns the coffee tables of many French families and it would be a rare visit to the doctor’s office to not find the latest issue.
Madame Figaro keeps its readers informed of all the latest gossip on celebrities and celebrity events and the latest fashion and beauty trends while covering the important cultural and current affairs of the week. Each issue also includes travel recommendations and reviews for books and films.
The magazine has international editions in Turkey, Greece, Portugal, Russia, Japan, China, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Cyprus.
Madame Figaro is offered free through the Saturday supplement to Le Figaro — one of the leading French morning newspapers founded in 1826 and taking its name from Le Mariage de Figaro, the play by Pierre-Augustin Caron de Beaumarchais.

In 2006, Madame Figaro hired AREA 17 to help them relaunch their online component to become the premier destination for French women. This was to be our first major work in France immediately after the opening of our Paris office.
