Rumsey has worked professionally as a designer for digital and interactive media for eight years, with a variety of international clients including Eureka Entertainment, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, MTV Networks, and Puma. In 2010, his work was recognized with a Webby award.

Hailing from Kentucky, Rumsey attained a BFA in photography from Birmingham-Southern College. Prior to his relocation the U.S. Northeast, he was a graphic artist for an alternative weekly in Chattanooga, TN. Rumsey holds an MFA in graphic design from Boston University, where his thesis was in type design. He is enamored with Herb Lubalin, fixed-gear bikes, and Polaroid photography.
